In order to increase the accessibility and representation of Black artists, while decreasing our own overhead, we did away with the traditional gallery set-up and started hosting pop-up art shows and exhibitions across the country. Check out our available open calls to submit artwork to join us for one of our events.

Open Calls for Art/Artists

BlkArthouse Juneteenth Exhibition

June 16 - 19, 2022

Televised Revolution

The Revolution Needs Revolutionaries!

In partnership with Prophet Propaganda, we are planning our annual Juneteenth exhibition. This year, we will be tackling criminal justice reform, with a particular focus on artists who are currently incarcerated, formerly incarcerated, or have otherwise been directly affected by the criminal justice system.

The exhibition seeks to give a collective voice through art that shines light on the criminal justice system and connect people to the humanity and experiences of those incarcerated. The exhibition will draw the relationship between American consumerism and criminal justice reform by showcasing artwork and other creative commodities for the profit of the artist.

OPEN CALL: March 11 - April 8, 2022

Artist Submission includes:

  1. - Artist Statement/Resume

  2. - 2-3 pieces of art with criminal justice/prison reform/social justice focus

  3. - An explanation of your collection and how have you been affected by the criminal justice system

*Commissions are welcome*
